In case you missed it, we’ve just published the second installment of our BRI in the Buckeye State series—a month-long deep dive into Ohio’s health care landscape featuring talks with physicians, state legislators, and policy experts.
This week, we sat down with Senator Stephen Huffman, a practicing emergency physician, lifelong Ohio resident, and Chair of the Ohio Senate Health Committee.
Our conversation covered much ground: from a legislative battle over medical aid in dying to the growing shortage of health care workers in rural communities, and even a federal investigation into Ohio State University College of Medicine’ admissions practices. It’s fair to say that Ohio faces a moment of mounting challenges.
Nevertheless, Sen. Huffman remains optimistic.
We invite you to listen to our discussion as Senator Huffman highlights why it’s critically important for physicians of all practices and associations to get engaged with the policies that shape the work they do.
Thanks greatly to both Sen. Huffman and our friends at the Buckeye Institute who connected us!
We’re only halfway through BRI in the Buckeye State—which brings us to our next announcement: our next speaker will be Senator Mark Romanchuk, Chair of the Ohio Senate Medicaid Committee. We invite you to view the event details below and join us once more!
Sincerely,
